Hello to all our Tacpackers Abroad!

We want to celebrate how far we’ve got, and how many countries are happily having Tacpac sessions for their receivers. We want to dedicate a web page to those who are working abroad with Tacpac. If you’d like us to know about you, can you write in to us, with a blog or some photos or videos? We would love to know how you got to where you are with your Tacpac set, who you are working with and how your receivers are benefitting from their sessions.

Tacpac in Australia

Tacpac started trainings in Australia in 2012. Since then, we have approximately 50 schools, centres and parents using Tacpac. We have a strong following mainly in NSW, and would love to be in touch with anyone who would like to help network and set up trainings in other parts of the country.
Our next visit will be in March 2020 and we hope to see you all at our trainings there!

Tacpac in Albania

We have a very special relationship with a very special group in Albania, who we got to know through our Tacpac Tutorials. Two physiotherapists, Xhina and Annie, contacted us with a host of queries and questions about their group. We’ve had recorded skype sessions, written notes from these sessions, and we are delighted to say that this group, parents, professionals and children, are going from strength to strength.

They started off with set 1 about 18 months ago, and are now nearly ready for set 4. They have kept us informed of all the amazing moments in their group.

Based on the success of the Tutorials and the development of this group, we were able to help both Xhina and Annie to attend our training in Dublin last year.

You see what can happen if you take part in a tutorial! We wish them every success, they are spreading the word in Albania, and we wish them every luck and success in their Tacpacking.

I found the training was delivered well and matched my school’s cohort very well. It was thought provoking and gave me many ideas on how this can be rolled out and introduced. It also enabled me to get a clearer idea around the intent and the purpose of TAC PAC as a communication strategy and how this can be explained to outside agencies such as ofsted.

It was really informative. I would encourage parents and other professional to go through Tac Pac training. Found it really innovative. Most surprising fact that it can be done with household simple stuff and doesn’t need to be expensive, very much handy and easy to use for parents/other caregiver and professionals.

The learning of the importance of the beat and uncovering some of the myths that we had previously been doing in our school so now they can be corrected. I feel I can relay the appropriate content learnt to other staff within my setting now.

The activities were brilliant for being able to practise the movements to the music in a supportive environment. There was no part of the course that I didn’t enjoy and from which I didn’t learn. Although I have used TACPAC before, I hadn’t considered the importance of unknown music without any connotations attached to it for the receiver. This now makes perfect sense and was a revelation!

I messaged my manager during the break to tell her how amazing the training course is; I didn’t expect it to go into as much detail as it did. I liked how the course went into detail about the function of the Limbic System in relation to behaviour and response. I now want to do more research into the physiological aspects of behaviour in Autism to work on positive behaviour support within our homes
