TACPAC for NHS Practitioners
TACPAC is great for supporting work in sensory processing and building communication skills. Easy to plan with your Sensory Curriculum.
TACPAC for Occupational Therapists:
When a child or adult has sensory processing disorder, the world can seem chaotic around them. TACPAC makes sense of this by providing sensory alignment through touch and sound. TACPAC can be used throughout different settings, in different stages of life and with different people. This means that the same TACPAC set can be used to support someone in the home, at school, in residential care or in hospital.
TACPAC goes from Pre-school into Adult Services
TACPAC can also assist the development of a child through pre-school, primary school, secondary school and on into adult services. The TACPAC music can be played on a phone or tablet which means that you can take the same TACPAC set with you into different homes to use it with different clients. Alternatively, each family can have their own TACPAC set which they use with the child or adult on their own and this can then be used by the visiting therapist as well.
Sensory profiling
Occupational therapists can do their own assessments and sensory profiling to see which way the receiver will benefit from TACPAC. For example, a profile might tell you who would like a light touch, or who will like deep pressure. The use of TACPAC can then be modified to suit the individual’s needs. TACPAC enables you to look for tiny signs of communication so that progress can be measured over an extended period of time. Go to our shop page for more details on what’s included with each TACPAC set. Or go to our training page to book a training so that you can find in more depth about how and why TACPAC works.
TACPAC for Speech Therapists:
Speech therapists love TACPAC because of the focus it provides on building communication skills. The intensive one-to-one interaction of a TACPAC session is invaluable in developing trust so that the child or adult with communication difficulties can begin to express themselves and know that they will be understood. Watch the videos of our speech therapists as they describe the increased attention span and intentional communication after a TACPAC session. The fact that TACPAC is measurable means that any small changes can be recorded after each session for parents or teachers to see the communication skills which are being built. TACPAC can also be done by the family, school or home so that progress is not lost between sessions with the speech therapist.
