Q: Where can I download the TACPAC Symbol?

Q: I would like some advice on consent forms for parents to sign when using TACPAC with their child in school.

Each child will have an In-Depth Personal Handling Plan so you will need to consult/amend this accordingly. We suggest you check the students records initially and see what consent you have from parents on this. Consent may vary from child to child. Q: How do I update my app?

The TACPAC app is available for both Android and Apple devices. Our apps are designed to be used when you want to play the music but don’t have internet access. They can be easily wired up to an external speaker for a high quality, digital sound. For more information on setting up the app on your device click here

Q: I can't remember the email I used

If you are not sure what email you used when making your purchase please have a look in your inbox for any emails we have sent you in the past as that is the one that is on our system. Please contact us directly on office@tacpac.co.uk if you cannot find anything.

Q: I can't remember my username or password

Password You won't need to remember your old password, you just need to enter your email address associated with your TACPAC account and create a new password. If you are not sure what email you used, please have a look at your email of any emails we have sent you in the past as that is the one that is on our system. Username You won't need to remember your old username, we no longer use this. You just need to enter your email address associated with your TACPAC account

Q: Is the TACPAC music important?

Yes it has been specially composed. You can’t use any music. The whole point of TACPAC is the alignment of the sensory languages of Touch and Music. (meaning of alignment: makes a balanced and supportive relationship of these two elements to make each one clear, utilised, emphasised and understood. The one needs the other for either to proceed.) The music has been composed to be aligned with the texture of the objects. If you use different music, there is no alignment with the touch, and therefore the whole reason for doing a TACPAC session is null and void. You will be doing something – but it won’t be a TACPAC session, with its benefits, insights and communication. Remember TACPAC is about communication, use it to communicate, and you’ll be surprised what it holds for you and your partner. Come on a training to learn how this works. Q: What is the methodology behind TACPAC?

TACPAC has a unique contextual framework, following a coherent and logical scheme of work which guides the practise and choices the TACPAC practitioner makes during planning, executing and assessing their practise. The unique framework is based on aligning two sensory languages, and learning to communicate through this new language forged by the partnership. The logical rules and laws of music are combined with the equally logical, instinctive rules and laws of touch to form a methodology which is easy to understand, and is inviting to use since it is familiar to us all. The specific procedures and techniques lend themselves to further research.

Q: How does TACPAC help to Sensory Processing?

TACPAC is a sensory communication resource, and as such, the only processing done in a session is sensory. TACPAC works in a partnership of two people of equal status, and these 2 people learn each other’s sensory likes and dislikes, so that communication can be equal and effective. The TACPAC giver will understand that good processing takes place with no distractions, with a reliable and predictable partner, and with the close alignment of the touch to the music. This way sensory processing benefits from seeing, hearing and feeling one message which can then go from giver to receiver.

Q: My password hasn’t arrived

Make sure you check your junk mail folder and also add Tacpac to your list of ‘safe’ contacts on your email account. If you still can’t find your password email, please get in touch with office@tacpac.co.uk for a new password. Please note, only the account holder can request a new password.

I found the training was delivered well and matched my school’s cohort very well. It was thought provoking and gave me many ideas on how this can be rolled out and introduced. It also enabled me to get a clearer idea around the intent and the purpose of TAC PAC as a communication strategy and how this can be explained to outside agencies such as ofsted.

The activities were brilliant for being able to practise the movements to the music in a supportive environment. There was no part of the course that I didn’t enjoy and from which I didn’t learn. Although I have used TACPAC before, I hadn’t considered the importance of unknown music without any connotations attached to it for the receiver. This now makes perfect sense and was a revelation!
